1.   INTRODUCTION

The Classifier Management Agent comprises a Windows service that is always available and provides monitoring and configuration services to Classifier applications. It is compatible with Email & Office Classifier version 3.8 and later.

Its primary functions are as follows:

• It can monitor supported Office applications on a computer and report if the Classifier client is not loaded.
• It can ensure that Classifier client applications have an up to date and valid copy of the Classifier configuration available at all times.

3.   INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before Installation

Users must be logged on with administrator privileges.

We recommend that any previous version of Management Agent is uninstalled prior to installation of this version.

Installation

Run the "setup.exe" which will launch the Windows Installer and follow the on screen instructions.

Silent Installation

The software can be installed without displaying a user interface, by using command line options. For example:

msiexec /i ClassifierManagementAgent.msi /qn

Another example of a silent install, illustrating custom settings for the Management Agent service display name and description:

msiexec /i ClassifierManagementAgent.msi /qn MA_DISPNAME="Classifier Management Agent" MA_DESC="Manages Classifier applications."

Uninstallation

To un-install follow these steps:

Navigate to 'Control Panel' > 'Programs and Features'. The entry Boldon James Classifier Management Agent appears in the list of installed programs. Select it and click 'Uninstall'. Confirm this operation when prompted and the product will be removed.

4.   FURTHER INFORMATION

• The Classifier Management Agent Guide, supplied with the Classifier Administration product, gives further information about configuring the Management Agent.
• If you wish to use the web-based configuration option introduced in release 3.8.1, you should refer to the Management Agent Supplement document (UM642800) which can be found in the Extras subfolder of the installation media.
• Email and Office Classifier version 3.8 is the first version of Classifier to be integrated with the Management Agent.

6.   COMPARISON WITH PREVIOUS RELEASES

6.1 Management Agent 3.9.1

• Fix for CSD 00007658 - Management agent update fails and corrupts the local cache when the web server config is redirected to another page
• The Extras folder is no longer delivered with the product. Its contents are obsolete. Web configuration can be created using the Classifier Administration product.

6.2 Management Agent 3.9.0

• Fix for CSD 00006553 - support for TLS 1.2 when downloading web configuration. This change introduces a dependency on .Net Framework 4.7.1.

6.3 Management Agent 3.8.3

• Fix for CSD 00004628 - problem when uninstalling CMA.

6.4 Management Agent 3.8.2

• Fix for CSD 27380 - CMA provoking unexpected high CPU usage by WMI service.

6.5 Management Agent 3.8.1

• Added support for web-based configuration.

6.6 Management Agent 3.8.0

• This is the first release of the Classifier Management Agent.
