1.   INTRODUCTION

Boldon James Exchange Classifier for Exchange 2010 allows you to apply Exchange Classifier policies to messages as they flow through the Exchange Transport pipeline.

2.   SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

2.1 Hardware

• 64-bit PC

2.2 Operating System

• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition SP2 (64-bit)
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1

2.3 Pre-requisites

• Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 SP3 (Hub Transport Role)
• Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5

Note: This version of the Boldon James Exchange Classifier software will only work with Microsoft Exchange Server service packs stated above. It will not work with earlier or later service packs released by Microsoft. Ensure that the service pack of Microsoft Exchange is at the appropriate level before installing Exchange Classifer.

3.   INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before Installation

• Users must be logged on with administrator privileges.
• To enable the Exchange Classifier transport agent you will need to be an administrator of the Exchange Organisation.

Installation

Run the "Setup.exe" from the installation media which will launch the Windows Installer and follow the on screen instructions.

The software must be installed on every Exchange Hub Transport server in the organisation.

Silent Installation

To perform a silent installation execute the following command:

msiexec /i "ExchangeClassifierSetup.msi" /qn

Post Installation

Before Exchange Classifier can be used it must be enabled via the 'Boldon James Exchange Classifier Shell' which can be found under 'Boldon James/Exchange Classifier' on the START menu. Within the shell you must run the '.\EnableExchangeClassifier.ps1' script which will register the Exchange Classifier Transport Agent and ask you if you want to re-start Exchange transport to load Exchange Classifier.

Uninstallation

Before uninstalling Exchange Classifier you must disable it. You do this via the 'Boldon James Exchange Classifier Shell' which can be found under 'Boldon James/Exchange Classifier' on the START menu. Within the shell you must run the '.\DisableExchangeClassifier.ps1' script which will unregister the Exchange Classifier Transport Agent and ask you if you want to re-start Exchange transport to unload Exchange Classifier.

Once Exchange Classifier is disabled you may uninstall it via 'Programs and Features' in Control Panel.
