1.   INTRODUCTION

Classifier Mail and Office Add-ins provides Classifier functionality in Outlook Web App and Office Online.

The Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website provides the website that is used by the Classifier Mail and Office Add-ins to provide the Classifier functionality in Outlook Web App and Office Online. The Classifier Mail and Office Add-in manifests require updating with the location of your Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website installation.

2.   SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

Contact Boldon James for information on the server sizing required to support your Classifier Mail and Office Add-in user numbers.

Multiple servers running the Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website can be used behind load balancing technology. This is a recommended configuration but is not required. Please note that these multiple servers must be running the same Classifier configuration and policy.

Seperate installations of the Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website can be used for the Classifier Mail and Office Add-ins to allow different Classifier policies to be used for the Classifier Mail and Office Add-ins.

3.   INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website is a IIS hosted web application which is installed into an existing IIS website.

Windows Server Component Pre-requisites and Recommendations

Before installing the Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website the following pre-requisites must be installed on Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows Server 2016:

The .Net Framework and Web Server (IIS) Roles can be installed using the instructions below:

  1. Open Windows PowerShell
  2. Run the following command
    Install-WindowsFeature NET-Framework-Core, NET-Framework-45-Core, NET-Framework-45-ASPNET, Web-Static-Content, Web-Http-Errors, Web-Stat-Compression, Web-Dyn-Compression, Web-Mgmt-Console -restart

IIS Website Pre-requisites and Recommendations

Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website is installed into an existing IIS Website. The IIS Website to be used for the Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website must have the following pre-requisites:

It is recommended that the Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website does not share an IIS Website or Application Pool with any other product and that a dedicated 64 bit IIS Website is created for this product prior to installation.

When the product is installed an IIS Application Pool called "Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website Application Pool" is created. This IIS Application Pool uses the identity "Network Service".

This App Pool identity must have permissions to allow:

Installation

After fulfilling the Windows Server and IIS Website pre-requisites the Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website can be installed.

Run setup.exe from the installation media. Select the dedicated website created for the Classifier Mail and Ofice Add-in Website from the list of IIS websites shown during the installation.

The Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website installer does not support command line or silent installation.

Post Installation

Configure the registry keys for the Classifier Label Configuration as detailed by the "Configuration Deployment" section in the "Administration Guide" documentation. The "Administration Guide" is supplied with the Classifier Administration Console

Proxy Server Support

The following registry values can be used to configure proxy server support. Please note that these registry values are only required when a proxy server will be used to access the Exchange Server or Office 365.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Boldon James\OWA Classifier Service\UseProxyServerAuthentication

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Boldon James\OWA Classifier Service\ProxyServerURL

UseProxyServer is a DWord registry value. A value data of 1 enables proxy server support. If the registry value is not present or has value data other than 1 then proxy server support is not enabled.

UseProxyServerAuthentication is a DWord registry value. A value data of 1 enables proxy server authentication. If the registry value is not present or has value data other than 1 then proxy server authentication is not enabled. The IIS Application Pool "Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website Application Pool" identity is used for the proxy server authentication.

ProxyServerURL is a String registry value. The value data is the URL for the proxy server to use. E.g. https://proxy.server:8080/

These registry values are not created by the installer and default configuration is not to use a proxy server.

Uninstallation

Using Windows "Programs and Features" under Control Panel, select "Boldon James Classifier Mail and Office Add-in Website" and click "Uninstall"
