1.   INTRODUCTION

Boldon James Power Classifier for SharePoint provides users of Boldon James Classifier with the ability to apply labels to items within a Microsoft SharePoint Document Library.

Classifier Configuration and the Power Classifier licence are administered using Boldon James Classifier Administration (MMC snap-in).

Power Classifier for SharePoint uses the SharePoint Client Object Model and can be installed on any supported computer and can acccess SharePoint systems local and remote to that computer. The SharePoint Systems it can access include SharePoint Server 2010, SharePoint Server 2013, SharePoint Server 2016 and SharePoint Online in Office 365.

2.   SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

2.1 Hardware

• 64-bit PC

2.2 Operating System

• Microsoft Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or later
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with Service Pack 2 or later

2.3 Pre-requisites

• .NET framework 3.5 and .NET framework 4
• Powershell 3.0

3.   INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Before Installation

• Users must be logged on with administrator privileges.

Installation

Run the "Setup.exe" from the version you wish to install which will launch the Windows Installer and follow the on screen instructions.

Silent Installation

The software can be installed without displaying a user interface, by using command line options. For example:

msiexec /i PowerClassifierforSharePointClient.msi /qn

3.4   Post Installation

• To run the Boldon James Power Classifier for SharePoint Shell select All Programs \ Boldon James \ Power Classifier for SharePoint \ Power Classifier for SharePoint Shell from the Windows Start menu.
• See the "Power Classifier Guide.pdf" document, supplied with the Classifier Administration Console, for more detailed information, including how to run the Power Classifier for SharePoint GUI application and the Power Classifier for SharePoint Shell.

3.5   Uninstallation

If you need to uninstall or repair Boldon James Power Classifier for SharePoint then please do the following:

• Run Add or Remove Programs (or Programs and Features, depending on your operating system) and remove "Boldon James Power Classifier for SharePoint".

4.   FURTHER INFORMATION

4.1 Limitations

• The option to preserve the Modified and Modified By fields on items when labels are set, cleared or removed requires "Full Control" SharePoint permissions. This option will not work for users with lower permissions levels.
