1.                INTRODUCTION

Boldon James SharePoint Classifier extends Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016, SharePoint Server 2019 and SharePoint Online Document Libraries to provide Classifier functionality. It is designed to interoperate with Boldon James Email Classifier and Office Classifier products, allowing labelling information from these products, to be propagated and displayed in SharePoint, whilst also providing SharePoint the ability to edit and display this information on unlabelled items. The labelling configuration is seamlessly retrieved from an organisation’s pre-configured overarching Classifier configuration.

The SharePoint Classifier Website for Clients is used by the SharePoint Classifier label dialog to access the information from a Classifier label configuration.

4.               FURTHER INFORMATION

4.1       Limitations

The quarantine list must be in the same site collection as the document libraries that are using it. Document libraries cannot use a quarantine list outside of their site collection. If a quarantine list outside of the site collection is used then quarantining will fail because the item cannot be moved to the quarantine list.

SharePoint document library items can be classified individually. It is not possible to classify multiple items at the same time using SharePoint Classifier. If multiple items need to be classified simultaneously, it is recommended that Boldon James Power Classifier for SharePoint be used.

If SharePoint document library items utilise unique permissions rather than inherited permissions then you should not use the Quarantine by Permissions setting. If the Quarantine by Permissions setting is used then any changes made to a document item will result in the item’s permissions being changed to inherited.
