Checking the Prerequisites Before Connecting a Gateway Connector

Confirm that you have the access you need before you add a gateway connector, so that you can complete the connection and authorize it in one sitting.

Steps

  1. Confirm that you have permission to manage connectors in Forcepoint Data Security Cloud.

  2. Decide which authentication method the connector will use.

    You can authenticate each user individually, or authenticate once for the whole organization.

  3. If you plan to use org-wide authentication with OAuth, confirm that you have a System Administrator account for the business application.

    Only a System Administrator can grant the API permissions the connector needs.

  4. If you plan to use org-wide authentication with an API key, generate the key in the business application.

  5. Confirm that the business application you want to connect is available on the Gateway Connectors page.

    Connectors marked SOON are not yet available to add.
