Generating a Client Secret in Microsoft Entra

Generate a client secret in your Microsoft Entra app registration so that AI Security can authenticate to Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Before you begin

You must have registered an application in Microsoft Entra for the Copilot connector.

Steps

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center as an administrator.

2. Open the app registration you created for the Copilot connector.

3. Open the certificates and secrets settings for the registration.

4. Create a new client secret.

5. Enter a description and select an expiry period for the secret.

   Record the expiry date. When the secret expires, the connector can no longer authenticate and you must generate a new secret and update the connector.

6. Copy the secret value and store it securely.

Result

You have a client secret to enter in Client secret when you connect Microsoft Copilot.
