Recovering Access if the Client Secret Is Lost

Restore an agent to working order when its client secret has been lost or exposed.

A lost client secret cannot be retrieved. AI Security does not store it in a form that can be displayed again, so recovery means issuing the agent a new secret rather than recovering the old one.

Steps

  1. Open the Agent Management page.
  2. Locate the agent in the agent list.
  3. Issue a new client secret for the agent.
  4. Copy the new secret and store it securely.
  5. Update the agent configuration with the new secret.
  6. Have the agent make a call to confirm that it can authenticate again.

Result

The agent authenticates using its new secret, and its Last Active time updates in the agent list.

Next steps

The previous secret no longer works. Remove it from any configuration or secret store that still holds it.
