Checking the Prerequisites Before Registering an Agent

Decide the details of the agent before you register it, so that you can complete the registration and capture its credentials in one sitting.

Steps

1. Confirm that you have permission to manage agents in Forcepoint Data Security Cloud.

2. Decide the name of the agent.

   Use lowercase letters and hyphens. The name appears in your audit logs, so choose one that identifies the agent and its purpose.

3. Identify the gateway connectors the agent needs to reach.

4. Add a gateway connector for each of those applications, if you have not already done so.

5. Identify the user who will own the agent.

6. Decide how long the agent's tokens should remain valid.

7. Prepare a secure location to store the client secret.

You have everything you need to register the agent.
