Understanding the Notify Option

Learn what the Notify option does when a policy matches, who receives the notification, and where it appears.

Notify is an optional setting on an access policy. When you select it, AI Security raises a notification in the console every time that policy matches a request.

Notify does not change the outcome of a request. The Allow or Deny action decides whether the agent is permitted to call the tool. Notify only makes you aware that the match happened.

You can select Notify on an allow policy and on a deny policy. Notifications are raised in both cases.

Where notifications appear

Notifications appear under the bell icon in the top-right corner of the console, next to your user name.

Who receives notifications

All administrators of your tenant receive the notification. You cannot choose individual recipients for a policy.

What Notify records

Each matching request is written to the transaction log with notify=true in the Action Params field. This record is what lets you search notified activity later, and what lets you build an email report from it.
