Introducing Forcepoint F1E DLP Inline Proxy

With this release of F1E DLP, it is now possible to use our new Inline Proxy feature to inspect web traffic. This option is an alternative to the existing browser extensions, which are used to capture web traffic in the browsers.

The inline proxy offers some advantages over the existing browser extensions, such as support for incognito/private browser mode. It is also possible to add other non-web browser applications to be monitored by the inline proxy via Forcepoint Security Manager.

The feature is an important change also, due to the announcement of Google to drop support for manifest V2 browser extensions. Our browser extensions use functions available in manifest V2 that will be dropped when this support is pulled. See here for the timeline of Google on dropping manifest V2 extensions:

Important: To enable and control the Inline Proxy feature, make sure the Forcepoint Security Manager is upgraded to 10.0 or later.
