New for v8.5.6 Forcepoint Appliances
Sizing update for Web and Email OVAs
Note: This is not supported for the DLP Analytics Engine OVA.
As part of v8.5.6 release, Forcepoint brings support for larger system partition size on virtual appliances.
This is an optional change that customers can decide to apply on Web OVA to benefit from a partition size of 64Gb instead of the default 52Gb. For the Email OVA, default system partition size is 32Gb and can be extended to 44Gb.
This change can be done by customers on v8.5.4 and v8.5.5 by increasing the system size via a specific hotfix prior to upgrading to v8.5.6; the change will be persistent in a direct upgrade to 8.5.6.
Note: The hotfix numbers are APP-8.5.4-300 and APP-8.5.5-300 for v8.5.4 and v8.5.5 respectively.
High-level steps:
Presume that the client is on 8.5.4, 8.5.5, or 8.5.6.
- Shutdown OVA
- Increase the disk size on ESXI
- Startup OVA
- Install the appropriate hotfix to update the partition size to 64G.
Note: By default, the system partition remains set at 52Gb for the Web OVA but can be extended to 64Gb. For the Email OVA, default system partition size is 32Gb and can be extended to 44Gb.
