Master FlexEdge Secure SD-WAN Engines and Virtual FlexEdge Secure SD-WAN Engines
Master Secure SD-WAN Engines are physical devices that provide resources for multiple Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engines.
Any
Secure SD-WAN Engine that has a license that allows the creation of Virtual Resources can be used as a Master Secure SD-WAN Engine. Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engines are represented by the following elements in the
SMC:
- Virtual Engine is a Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engine in the Engine/VPN role.
- Virtual IPS engine is a Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engine in the IPS role.
- Virtual Layer 2 Engine is a Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engine in the Layer 2 Engine role.
Each Master Secure SD-WAN Engine can only host one Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engine role. To use more than one Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engine role, you must create a separate Master Secure SD-WAN Engine for each Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engine role. Each Master Secure SD-WAN Engine must be on a separate physical Master Secure SD-WAN Engine device.
