Add metrics or enable ECMP on a route

You can modify the metrics or enable ECMP on routes in the routing configuration.

Steps

  1. Select Configuration.
  2. Right-click an Secure SD-WAN Engine, then select Edit <element type>.
  3. Browse to Routing.
  4. Right-click a network that is beneath a router, NetLink, or tunnel interface, then select Edit Route Metrics.
  5. Configure the settings, then click OK.
  6. Click Save and Refresh to transfer the changed configuration.

Use this dialog box to define route metrics or enable ECMP on a route.

Option Definition
Metric Enter a metric value. Valid values are 0–254, and the default is 0.
Use Equal-Cost Multi-Path (ECMP) When selected, enables equal-cost multi-path (ECMP). Enter the weight value 1 for all routes to the same destination.
Monitoring Probe Define the probing method used to monitor and verify that the route to a network is available.
  • Not Enabled — Route monitoring is not enabled.
  • Next Hop Reachability — Tests that the link to the next hop router is up and that the router is responding.
  • Ping — An ICMP echo message is sent to a host in the destination network to test that the network is available. Define the settings for the ping test:
    • IP Address — Define an IP Address (IPv4 or IPv6) in the destination network.
    • Retry Count — Define the number of unsuccessful attempts to ping the IP address before removing the route. Valid values are 1–10, and the default is 2.
    • Interval — Define how frequently the IP address is pinged. Valid values are 100ms – 10000ms, and the default is 500ms.
