Installation overview
The process of installing Secure SD-WAN consists of several high-level steps.
- Install and configure the SMC and a Management Client.
- Download licenses for the SMC components and the Secure SD-WAN Engines, and install the licenses in the Management Client.
- If network address translation (NAT) is applied to communications between system components, define contact addresses for the SMC components in the Management Client.
- Define the Engines, IPS engines, and Layer 2 Engines in the Management Client. You can optionally define Master Secure SD-WAN Engines and Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engines.
- Configure interfaces and routing for the Secure SD-WAN Engines in the Management Client.
- In the Management Client, generate the initial configuration for Engines, IPS engines, Layer 2 Engines, and Master Secure SD-WAN Engines. You do not need an initial configuration for Virtual Secure SD-WAN Engines.
- If you are not using a Forcepoint appliance that has pre-installed Secure SD-WAN Engine software, install the Secure SD-WAN Engine software on virtualization platforms or third-party hardware.
- Configure the Secure SD-WAN Engine software and apply the initial configuration to the Secure SD-WAN Engines.
- Create and install a policy on the Secure SD-WAN Engines.
