Install Forcepoint FlexEdge Secure SD-WAN software using an .iso file

Use an .iso file of the Secure SD-WAN Engine software to install Secure SD-WAN on VMware ESX, KVM, or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms.

Only Secure SD-WAN Engines in the Engine/VPN role are supported on the Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platform.

Steps

  1. Create the virtual machine and configure it according to your requirements.
    Note: It is recommended to select the highest 64bit Debian GNU/Linux version for the Guest Operating System.
  2. (IPS and Layer 2 Engine only) Configure the virtual switches to which the IPS or Layer 2 Engine inline interfaces are connected:
    1. Create a port group, then assign All (4095) as the VLAN ID.
    2. Enable the use of Promiscuous Mode.
  3. (Engine/VPN only) In the virtual switch settings, select Accept for the MAC Address Changes and Forged Transmits options.
  4. Download the license at https://⁠stonesoftlicenses.forcepoint.com.
  5. Download the .iso installation file at https://⁠support.forcepoint.com.
  6. Connect the DVD drive of the virtual machine to the .iso file.
  7. Restart the virtual machine.
    The License Agreement appears.
  8. Type YES, then press Enter to accept the license agreement and continue with the configuration.
  9. Select the type of installation:
    • Type 1 for the normal Full Install.
    • Type 2 for the Full Install in expert mode if you want to partition the hard disk manually.
  10. Enter the number of processors:
    • For a uniprocessor system, type 1, then press Enter.
    • For a multiprocessor system, type 2, then press Enter.
  11. Continue in one of the following ways:
    • If you selected Full Install, type YES, then press Enter to accept automatic hard disk partitioning.
    • If you selected Full Install in expert mode, install the engine in expert mode.

Result

The installation process starts.
