Start the Security Engine Configuration Wizard in a web browser

Start the Security Engine Configuration Wizard to configure settings for the Security Engine.

Steps

  1. If you are configuring a physical Security Engine appliance, connect the appliance to a laptop or other client device.
    1. Connect an Ethernet cable from the client device to the physical port labeled LAN (generally port number 2) on the Security Engine appliance. If the appliance does not have the port labeled LAN, then use the port eth0_1. Also, you can do the following:
      • If the Security Engine appliance does not have the port eth0_1, then use the port eth1_0.
      • If you use a non-modular interfaces, then use the port eth1.
    2. Connect the other network cables to the Security Engine appliance.
  2. Turn on the Security Engine appliance.
  3. To start the web browser version of the Security Engine Configuration Wizard, open a web browser on the client device, then connect to https://169.254.169.169.
    It might take some time for the web page to load.
  4. When the Security Engine Configuration Wizard offers a web browser client certificate, accept the certificate.
