How to Resolve Missing Copilot Activity After Connecting

Identify why no Microsoft Copilot activity appears in AI Security after you connect the connector, and correct the licensing that Copilot monitoring depends on.

Before you begin

You need Global Administrator access in the Microsoft 365 admin center. You cannot correct Copilot licensing from Forcepoint Data Security Cloud.

The Microsoft Copilot connector is connected and shows a healthy status, but no Copilot activity and no historical data appear in the console, even after several hours.

The most common cause is licensing. Microsoft returns Copilot interaction data only for users who hold a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence with the Microsoft Copilot with Graph-grounded chat service plan enabled. When the licence or the service plan is missing, Microsoft returns an empty result rather than an error, so the connector continues to report a healthy status and no warning is shown.

Steps

  1. Open the App Connectors page in AI Security.

  2. Confirm that the Microsoft Copilot connector is active.

If the connector reports an invalid credential error instead, the cause is authentication rather than licensing. See Resolving an Invalid Credential Error.

  3. Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center as a Global Administrator.

  4. Go to Users › Active users.

  5. Select a user whose Copilot activity is missing from AI Security.

  6. Open the Licenses and apps tab.

  7. Confirm that a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence is assigned to the user.

  8. Expand the licence to show its service plans.

  9. Confirm that the Microsoft Copilot with Graph-grounded chat service plan is selected.

  10. Assign the licence or select the service plan if either one is missing.

  11. Save your changes.

  12. Repeat steps 5 to 11 for each user whose Copilot activity is missing.

  13. Return to AI Security and open the Microsoft Copilot details page on the AI Landscape tab.

  14. Check for Copilot activity after the next collection cycle.

Result

Copilot activity for the corrected users appears in AI Security from the next collection cycle onward.

Next steps

If the licence and the service plan are both correct and activity still does not appear, contact Forcepoint Technical Support. Have the following ready:
