Using the Admin Menu
You can find the
Admin menu icon in the top-right corner of the SMC Client.
The Admin Menu includes the following options:
- Change Password: This option allows an administrator to change their
own password for the SMC Client.To change the administrator password, follow these steps:
- From the Admin Menu, select the Change Password option. The Change Password for <Admin> dialog-box is displayed.
- Enter the following details:
- Old Password
- New Password
- Confirm New Password
- Click OK.
Note: Password Policy settings for password age and complexity are enforced. - Lock Window: When selected, locks current administrator session. No
actions can be taken until the correct password for the currently logged on administrator is
entered.Note: If the Hide the Management Client Window Content option is enabled in the Global System properties under the Password Policy tab, the contents of the window are also hidden while the window is locked.
- Reconnect: When selected, re-establishes network level connectivity
between the SMC Client and the Management Server.Note: This option is only available when using a stand-alone SMC Client application to connect with the management server.
- Exit: When selected, logs out the current administrator from the Management Server and closes the SMC Client.
