Install a Log Server on the command line

Configure the Log Server settings in a command line installation.

Steps

  1. Specify the IP address for the server.
    To use the default option, press Enter. You can also enter a different IP address, then press Enter.
    If IP address binding is used, the server’s license must be generated with this IP address as the binding.
  2. Specify the IP address of the Management Server that controls this server.
    To use the default option, press Enter. You can also enter a different IP address, then press Enter. If there are multiple Management Servers, enter the IP addresses as a comma-separated list.
  3. Specify the port on which the Log Server receives data.
    To use the default option, press Enter. You can also enter a different port, then press Enter.
  4. To install the server as a service, enter Y. Otherwise, enter N.
    When installed as a service, the server starts automatically.
  5. Specify the directory for storing log files.
    To use the default option, press Enter. You can also enter a different directory, then press Enter.
