View Policy Snapshots

A policy snapshot captures a policy's configuration at the time it was installed.

Steps

  1. Engine Configuration
  2. Browse to Other Elements > Policy Snapshots.
    A list of policy snapshots with the upload times and dates appears.
  3. Double-click the policy snapshot you want to view.
    The details of the selected policy snapshot open.
    Tip: You can also view the snapshot in HTML format: right-click a snapshot and select Tools > Save as HTML File.
  4. Select elements in the other pane to see their details. The elements are organized in the following groups:
    • Policy: The policy whose installation created the snapshot.
    • Target: Properties of the Engine on which the policy has been saved.
    • Elements: Elements included in the policy.
    Tip: Select Show XML to view the policy snapshot in XML format.

Policy Snapshot view

Use this view to view a single Policy Snapshot or compare two Policy Snapshots.

When viewing a single Policy Snapshot, select a policy, Engine, or element in the left pane. You can see the details in the right pane.

When viewing a comparison of two Policy Snapshot, select a policy or Engine in the bottom pane. You can compare the details between the upper-left and upper-right panes.

Policy Snapshot Properties dialog box

Use this dialog box to view the properties of a Policy Snapshot element.

Option Definition
Name Specifies the Policy Snapshot name.
Target Specifies the Engine on which the policy has been saved.
Policy Specifies the policy whose installation created the Policy Snapshot.
Uploaded By Specifies the administrator who uploaded the policy.
Upload Time Shows the time when the policy was uploaded.
Category Shows the assigned category.
Select Opens the Category Selection dialog box.
Comment An optional comment for your own reference.
