Start the FlexEdge Secure SD-WAN Configuration Wizard on the command line

Start the Secure SD-WAN Configuration Wizard to configure settings for the Secure SD-WAN engine.

Tip: You can run the Secure SD-WAN Configuration Wizard at any time using the sg-reconfigure command on the engine command line.

Steps

  1. If you are configuring a physical device, connect to the Secure SD-WAN Engine appliance.
    1. Connect the Secure SD-WAN Engine appliance to a laptop or other client device using a serial cable.
    2. On the client device, use a terminal console program to connect to the Secure SD-WAN Engine appliance with these settings:
      • Bits per second — 115,200
      • Data bits — 8
      • Parity — None
      • Stop bits — 1.
      Note: The serial console port speed is 115,200 bps in most Secure SD-WAN Engine appliances. The speed is 9600 bps in older Secure SD-WAN Engine appliance models. See the hardware guide for your Secure SD-WAN Engine appliance model for more information.
    3. Connect the network cables to the Secure SD-WAN Engine appliance.
  2. Turn on the Secure SD-WAN Engine appliance.
  3. Start the Secure SD-WAN Configuration Wizard.
    Note: On some appliance models, the Secure SD-WAN Configuration Wizard starts automatically.
    1. Press Enter to activate the console.
    2. When you are prompted to start the Secure SD-WAN Configuration Wizard, type Y, then press Enter.
  4. Select Exit, and then press Enter:
    Note: This step can be skipped, if sg-reconfigure command was run on the engine command line.
    1. For SMC managed engines, you can select one of the following options:
      1. Import configuration via USB
      2. Manual configuration with sg-reconfigure
    2. If you have selected the Import configuration via USB option, do the following:
      1. Select the USB drive, and then press Enter.
      2. Select the correct configuration file.
        Note: The files are specific to each engine.
      3. Highlight Next, then press Enter.
    3. If you have selected the Manual configuration with sg-reconfigure option, highlight Next, then press Enter.
