Installing the Security Engine in FIPS mode

To use the Security Engine in a FIPS environment, you must install the Security Engine in FIPS mode.

In a FIPS environment, you must use Security Engines that run on purpose-built Forcepoint Network Security Platform appliances.

You must complete the following main steps:

1. Create an element for the Security Engine in the SMC Client.
2. Enable FIPS mode in the properties of the Security Engine element.
3. Create a policy for the Security Engine.
4. Install the Security Engine in FIPS mode.
5. Check the results of the self-tests on the Forcepoint Network Security Platform appliance.
6. Install the policy on the Security Engine.
