Security Engine in the Factory Default State

The following network interfaces and services are available for the engine in the factory default state:

  • Ethernet Interface 0 (WAN): This interface responds to ICMP Echo (Ping) requests, provided it can obtain an IP address via DHCP.
  • Ethernet Interface 2 (LAN): This interface uses the link local IP address 169.254.169.169/16 and provides the following services:
    • Web server for Security Engine Configuration Wizard on TCP ports 80 and 443.
    • DHCP server on UDP port 67.
    • DNS server on UDP and TCP port 53.
  • Ethernet Interface 3 (HA): This interface listens to High Availability (HA) pairing broadcasts for Backup Unit on UDP port 18770. No IP address is configured on this interface.
  • LTE Mobile Data Interface (available in certain appliances): This interface responds to ICMP Echo (Ping) requests, provided there is a SIM card installed and a data plan that enables it to obtain an IP address from the mobile operator.
