New feature in this release

This release of the agent includes the following features.

Local Configuration File Support

SmartEdge Agent now supports an optional local configuration file named bitglass.local.json, starting with agent version 3.1.0. This file allows administrators to apply endpoint‑specific agent settings without changing the cloud‑managed configuration.

This file is primarily useful when the agent’s default internal IP range (172.29.8.0/22) overlaps with existing network infrastructure and causes connectivity issues with internal sites. Administrators can specify an alternative IP range that does not conflict with their environment.

This file must be deployed manually using endpoint management tools such as SCCM, Intune, or GPO. It must be placed in the same directory as the existing bitglass.json file.

Note: The agent update is delivered automatically through auto‑update. Only the bitglass.local.json file requires manual deployment.
