Updating the agent manually

Updating the agent manually allows administrators to update the agent to a specific version of the agent as per required schedule.

When you manually update an agent to the latest version, you download the latest agent from the management portal, then deploy it to your managed endpoints. The below procedure provides a high-level overview of the update steps. The full installation procedure is provided in the installation sections section of this document.

Steps

  1. Download the agent from the management portal.
  2. Either manually install the agent or deploy the agent using your preferred deployment tool (such as Intune or Jamf). For more information, see the installing the agent section of this document.
    Note: You do not need to uninstall the earlier version of the agent before installing the latest version of the agent on your endpoints. The installer can automatically handle the removal of the older agents installed on the system.
