Scan Configuration Fields

Description of the fields in the Scan Configuration pop-up.

To configure a scan for any of the supported data sources some or all of these fields may need to be filled. However, not all fields are applicable for all data sources.

  • Name: Set a unique name so that the Data Sources is easy to identify.
  • Credentials: This a drop-down to select the credentials that have already been configured for the Data Sources.
  • Geographic Location: This is to indicate the physical location of the server the data sits on.
  • Scan Scope: Choose whether to scan the entire Data Source or specific locations within it.
    • Entire Data Source: Scans the whole Data Source; no further configuration is required.
    • Selected Locations: Choose one or more locations to scan. Only the selected locations are scanned, the rest of the Data Source is not included in this scan.
  • Data Owner: This is the person that is to be the person responsible for the data. This setting is optional.
