SmartEdge Agent with non-English Entra ID users

When using SmartEdge Agent 2.4.0 or higher version with non-English users created directly in Entra ID and if those users' devices are linked to Entra ID domain, then SmartEdge Agent supports the following:

  • The user details synced from Entra ID to IAM > Users and Groups > Users tile of supports non-English characters in the First Name, Last Name, Group and OU fields.
  • Non-English characters in Windows' Hostname (Machine Name) and Username.
  • On the Protect > Forward Proxy > SmartEdge Proxy page, the following options are supported for User Authentication:
    • Auto Login, Anonymous
    • Auto Login, Login Prompt - Auto Login works and fallback login prompt won't work
    • Anonymous only

SmartEdge Agent's Auto-login options use the User's ObjectSID mapping to login the user automatically. However, ObjectSID is not available for users created directly in Entra ID. To use the Auto-login options, follow the steps mentioned in Updating ObjectSID for Entra ID users.
