The Policy Database runs as a special account: WebsenseDBUser. If this account experiences logon problems, the Policy Database is unable to start.
To address this issue, change the WebsenseDBUser password.
To do this on a Windows:
Steps

Log on to the Policy Database machine as a local administrator.

Open the Computer Management tool:
- Windows Server 2016: Go to Start, then select .
- Windows Server 2012: Use the menu.
- Windows Server 2008: Use the menu.

In the navigation pane, under System Tools, expand Local Users and Groups, and then select Users. User information is displayed in
the content pane.

Right-click WebsenseDBUser and select Set Password.

Enter and confirm the new password for this user account, and then click OK.

Close the Computer Management dialog box.

Open the Windows Services tool:
- Windows Server 2016: Go to Start, then select All Programs > Windows Administrative Tools > Services
- Windows Server 2012: Use the menu.
- Windows Server 2008: Use the menu.

Right-click Websense Policy Database and select Properties.

On the Log On tab of the Properties dialog box, enter the new WebsenseDBUser password information, and then click OK.

Right-click Websense Policy Database again, and then select Start. When the service has started, close the Services tool.
