Step 2: Import the URL categories

Forcepoint Linking Service is not supported for URL Categories for DLP Endpoint. You must upload URL categories XML file. You have 2 options:
  1. If you have access to the Forcepoint Web Security Cloud portal and export the URL categories. The exported XML file contains the full category list, including predefined and custom categories. For more information, see Exporting the Forcepoint Web Security Cloud URL categories in the Cloud Security Gateway Integration Guide.
  2. If you have access to the Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | SSE SWG and export the URL categories. The exported XML file contains the full category list, including predefined and custom categories. For more information, see Forcepoint DLP and Forcepoint Data Security Cloud SSE SWG Integration Guide.
  3. If you do not have access to either Forcepoint Web Security Cloud or Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | SSE SWG, download the XML file from Predefined URL categories XML file.

Steps

  1. Go to the Settings > General > Services page and select the URL Categories tab.

URL Categories tab before an import source is selected
  2. Select Get URL category mapping from.

The list beside the check box is unavailable until the check box is selected.

  3. Select Upload URL category XML file.

This option applies to Forcepoint Web Security Cloud, Forcepoint ONE Secure Web Gateway, and DLP Endpoint.

  4. In the URL Categories Mapping File section, select Choose File, select the exported file, and confirm.

Current file shows the name of the imported file and Service shows the source it came from.

  5. Review the warnings shown beneath the file name.

    Two warnings can appear:

    • The URL categories for DLP Endpoint service is not available, with a pointer to Global Settings > Data Security Cloud to recheck.

The following warning may appear when web context identifier was not retrieved from Forcepoint Data Security Cloud.

Categories can still be imported and used for network web traffic, but the endpoint cannot categorize traffic until the service is available. See Configuring Data Security Cloud.

    • Categories that are absent from the imported file but still used in one or more DLP rules are not analyzed. Those categories are marked as deleted, and it is recommended that they are removed from the destination tab of the affected rules.

  6. Save the change, then click Deploy.

A Deployment Needed message offers to deploy immediately. Changes can also be deployed later using Deploy on the Data Security toolbar.

Result

The imported categories are available under Main > Policy Management > Resources > URL Categories and can be selected as web destinations in a policy rule.
