Run diagnostics on SMCaaS servers

You can run diagnostics to check the status of the communication between all the SMCaaS servers (Management Servers, Log Servers, and Web Portal Servers).

Note: The collect the diagnostics, the Management Server that is used to manage the SMCaaS must contact all the SMCaaS servers. If there are many SMCaaS servers, collecting the diagnostics might be a resource intensive operation and might take a long time.
The diagnostics provide information about the following types of issues with the status of SMCaaSservers:
  • An SMCaaS server cannot be contacted.
  • There is an issue with the certificate of an SMCaaS server.
  • There is an issue with the license of an SMCaaS server.
  • An element that represents an SMCaaS server is in the Trash, but the element is still used in some configuration.
    CAUTION:
If the diagnostics indicate that there is an SMCaaS server element in the Trash, check if the server is still needed. If the server is still needed, restore it from the Trash. Otherwise, remove the server from the Trash. If a Management Server or a Log Server has been moved to the Trash, the management database is never removed from the Management Server and log data is never removed from the Log Server when the server is in the Trash. The Log Server might continue to receive log data and the large amount of log data on the Log Server might eventually cause the Management Server that is used to control the SMCaaS to fail.

Steps

  1. Right-click a Management Server, then select SMC Servers Replication Diagnostics.
A dialog box that shows diagnostics about the status of all the SMCaaS servers opens.
  2. View the diagnostics and check if there are issues that you should resolve about any of the servers, then click Close.

Next steps

If the diagnostics indicate any issues with any SMCaaS servers, such as issues with certificates or licenses, resolve the issue.
