Prepare Forcepoint Web Security for upgrade
The upgrade from RHEL 7.9 to RHEL 8.10 using Leapp may fail due to system blockers such as unsupported drivers, multiple kernel versions, or incomplete configuration inputs.
Steps
- Enable required repositories to provide access to the Leapp utility and necessary upgrade packages.
- Install the Leapp utility to prepare the system for pre-upgrade checks and upgrade management.
- Unset the OS release lock to allow the system to upgrade beyond the currently pinned version.
- Run the pre-upgrade check to scan the system for issues that may block the upgrade process.
- Review and resolve all inhibitors to fix critical issues such as kernel conflicts, unsupported drivers, or incomplete answer files.
- Re-run the pre-upgrade check to verify that all upgrade blockers have been resolved and the system is ready.
- Start the upgrade process to download all required packages and stage the system for upgrade to RHEL 8.10.
- Reboot the system to complete the upgrade and apply GRUB and kernel changes for the new operating system version.
