Potential issues when upgrading to v8.5.7

Important: An updated v8.5.7 installer was re-released on 19-Aug-2026. The original installer required a manual switch from user mode to full mode before upgrading. The re-released installer removes this requirement. Download the latest v8.5.7 installer from the Forcepoint Customer Hub before upgrading.
  • Policy Broker (Windows): Upgrading the machine that hosts Policy Broker and the Policy Database may fail because of a PostgreSQL database version change. See the Policy Broker: Windows upgrade instructions for the recovery workaround (fresh install plus Policy Database restore).
  • Important: This upgrade to version 8.5.7 is not supported using CentOS. Customers using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.9 must upgrade to RHEL 8.10 before upgrading the product.

    During the upgrade of the Operating System (OS) from RHEL 7.9 to RHEL 8.10, a direct upgrade may lead to critical issues such as GRUB corruption and unresolved system blockers. To ensure a stable upgrade process, it is recommended to first upgrade from RHEL 7.9 to RHEL 8.8, and then proceed from RHEL 8.8 to RHEL 8.10. This staged approach helps avoid common failures and improves compatibility throughout the upgrade.
