About the product
This release of Forcepoint ONE Data Security supports the cloud email, CASB, and online web channels. Together with the previously supported endpoint channels, it provides Data Security Everywhere.
To support the new channels, Forcepoint ONE Data Security integrates with Forcepoint Data Protection Service (DPS) that is already integrated with Forcepoint Email, WEB, and CASB products.
The support for the cloud email, CASB, and online channels include:
- Adding these channels to the Policy setup page as new destinations.
- Adding resources relevant only to these channels (e.g., URL Categories for WEB and Cloud Applications for CASB).
- Adding actions supported by Forcepoint CASB, WEB, and Email products (e.g. “Quarantine with note”).
Supported Channels
- Endpoint – Printing, Removable Media, Applications, LAN (previously known as “Network Share”).
- Email – Endpoint, Cloud.
- Web – includes both Endpoint (Endpoint HTTP, Endpoint HTTPS) and Online (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP).
- CASB – Inline, API.
New Resources
The resources added in Forcepoint ONE Data Security are as follows:
- Users, Groups, Organizational Units (OUs), Computers – These are to be obtained automatically from Forcepoint ONE following a sync with the customer’s Active Directory. In this version,
this data is obtained manually by importing Active Directory data using the Forcepoint ONE Data Security portal. See following sections for details:
Note: It is currently not possible to use OUs or Computers from the Active Directory as resources since there is no manual import option and the API with the Active Directory is not yet available.
- Cloud Applications – obtained automatically from CASB via API.
- URL Categories – updated manually by importing the URL Categories from the WEB solution. See Exporting URL categories from Forcepoint Cloud Security Gateway for details.
