Classifiers

With Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | DLP, administrators can use several methods to classify data.

Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | DLP includes several types of classifiers that can be used to identify and describe the data you want to protect:
  • Use predefined scripts, dictionaries, key phrase, and regular expression (regex) patterns to start classifying data right away.
  • Create customized dictionaries, regular expression patterns, and key phrases for specific (described) data.
  • By File name, type, or size. File name identifies files by their extension. File type identifies files by their magic number (an internal identifier).
  • By File label if a file labeling system such as Forcepoint Data Classification or Microsoft Information Protection is in use.
