Configuring OCR API scanning

Sensitive data often exists in image-based formats, such as scanned documents and PDFs. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) API scanning in Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | SSE automatically extracts and inspects text from these files, ensuring that embedded content is protected by the same data security policies as standard text-based files.

Follow the steps to set up OCR API scanning in Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | SSE.
  1. Configure the OCR Server in DLP Solution based on your deployment type:
    • To configure OCR scanning in the enterprise Forcepoint DLP, see the Configuring the OCR server page.
    • To configure OCR scanning in the Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | DLP, see the Optical Character Recognition (OCR)section in the Global settings page.
  2. Enable API Scanning in Forcepoint Data Security Cloud | SSE. For more details to set up the OCR API scanning, see the Setting up API access to managed cloud applications page.

Once configuration is complete, OCR scanning will begin automatically within approximately 15 minutes.
