Microsoft Office 365 - Use Cases

The use cases will allow you to take any action on the email (such as block, quarantine, admin or manager approval, encrypt, or redirect the email) based on the Forcepoint X-Header value after the Forcepoint DLP scan.

The use cases are for Inbound Mail Flow Rule configuration. Before creating the Inbound Mail Flow Rules (Microsoft Office 365 - Use Cases), all other configurations such as Outbound Connector, Inbound Connector, and Outbound Mail Flow Rule have to be setup in Microsoft Office 365.

Ensure that you follow the steps before creating the use cases:

  1. Navigate to https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com/ and log in with your with Microsoft Office 365 credential.
  2. Create an outbound connector, refer to task Outbound Connectors Setup in Microsoft Office 365.
  3. Create an inbound connector, refer to task Inbound Connectors Setup in Microsoft Office 365.
  4. Create an outbound mail flow rule, refer to task Outbound Mail Flow Rule Setup in Microsoft Office 365.
  5. Create an inbound mail flow rule, refer to task Inbound Mail Flow Rule Setup in Microsoft Office 365.
    Note: The above Inbound Mail Flow Rule Setup chapter allows you to create an inbound mail flow rule based on your organization's requirements apart from the common use cases listed here.
  6. Configure Microsoft Office 365 to allow Forcepoint DLP server IP addresses, refer to task Configure Microsoft Office 365 to allow Forcepoint DLP for Cloud Email server IP addresses.

After this setup, you can create customized use cases based on your organization’s requirements.
