Adding the startup script settings to the GPO

This topic describes steps for adding the startup script settings to the GPO.

Steps

  1. In the left pane of the Group Policy Management Editor window, navigate to Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Scripts.
  2. In the right pane, double-click Startup.


  3. On the Scripts tab of the Startup Properties page, click Show Files.
    Copy the file(s) you want to run to this location.
  4. Once the script you want to run has been added to the GPO, click Add on the Scripts tab.
  5. Click Browse in the Add a Script window, and select the file using the file browser.
  6. In the Add a Script dialogue, you can optionally specify parameters to configure how the script runs.
  7. Click OK to continue.


  8. In the Group Policy Management Editor window, decide where you want to link the new GPO.
  9. Right-click the desired OU, domain, site, or forest in the left pane and select Link an Existing GPO from the menu.
  10. In the Select GPO dialogue, select the GPO you just created and click OK.


Result

At this point, any device that applies to this GPO policy will install the agent upon startup. If the agent is already present, the batch file will execute, but will not re-run the installer.
Check the log file at C:\BitglassAgentInstall.log.
