Adjusting Forcepoint Security Index

The Forcepoint Security Index (FSI) is a metric specifically designed to evaluate the implementation and deployment of Forcepoint products within an organization's network.

Unlike a generic security index that measures overall security effectiveness, the FSI focuses on assessing the extent to which Forcepoint products have been successfully integrated into the organization's infrastructure.

The FSI takes into account the best practices defined by Forcepoint, which serve as guidelines for optimal product deployment. These best practices may include considerations, such as configuration settings, agent deployment, HTTPs inspection settings, and other specific requirements unique to Forcepoint products.

By utilizing the FSI, organizations can assess the effectiveness of their Forcepoint product implementations and identify areas for improvement. A higher FSI score indicates a more robust and secure deployment of Forcepoint products within the organization's network, while a lower score suggests areas that may require attention or optimization.

Note: Currently, the FSI covers Forcepoint product—Forcepoint ONE Security Service Edge.

The FSI comprises of five components as outlined below:

  • Web Score
  • CASB Inline Score
  • API Scanning Score
  • Logins Score
  • Active Agents Score
Important: Each component carries a 20% weighting, by default. When one or more of these components are disabled, the weighting of remaining components will automatically rebalance. For example, if the CASB API is disabled, then the remaining four components will be weighted at 25% each instead of 20%.
