Path Detectors

Identify and classify files based on their directory location and file extensions. Useful for organizing and cataloging files by storage location and file extensions.

  1. In order to set this up, navigate to Administration > Detectors to bring them to the Detector page.

To begin the setup, click on the Create Path Detector button on the top right corner of the screen. Opens the detector editor screen.

  2. Select one of Regex, Keywords, or Extensions. This defines where the search base of the detector will look (i.e. search through the contents of a file or the file path).
  3. In the Contain field set the relevant salary-related keywords that might trigger a detector hit in a potentially sensitive document, such as Salary, Compensation Package, Payslip, Payroll, Compensation Structure, or OTE.
  4. If there are terms that the Detector is set to ignore set them in the Not Contain field.
  5. Click the Enabled button to turn on and click Save.
  6. The new detector should now be visible in the list of Detectors.

Note: Any changes to detectors are applied to all scans (including running scans) but past scan results (including those in a running scan) remain unaffected.
