Selecting dimensions and measures

While creating or modifying the widget in the Discover page, you can select the desired dimensions and measures to view data of your selected data source in a widget.

Steps

  1. Select the data source from the Data Collections drop-down.

    Options available under Dimensions and Measures vary based on what you have selected in Data Collections.

    Note: If you are licensed for both Proxy (inline access of protected cloud applications) and SSE SWG (web browsing events generated from users using the SmartEdge agent and/or SSE SWG), then the DLP Collections accessed under Proxy or SWG will contain the information for both Proxy and SWG. The source of the event can be determined using the Type dimension.
  2. In Dimensions, do one of the following:
    • Enter a text in the search field to identify the required dimension.
    • Scroll up or down to find the required dimension.
  3. For the Dimensions selected, select one of the following options to control the number of entries displayed.
    • Top 5
    • Top 10
    • Bottom 5
    • Bottom 10
    • All
    • Custom
  4. In Measures, do one of the following:
    • Enter a text in the search field to identify the required measure.
    • Scroll up or down to find the required measure.
  5. Select the required dimension(s) and measure(s).
    You can also click a measure until the possible aggregations appear in the Included field.
    The selected measures and dimensions appear in the Included field.
  6. If required, click the dimension or measure in the Included field and then select one of the options to sort data of dimension or measure:
    1. If the dimension or measure is from Cloud Data Storage, Proxy or SWG data collections, then you can find the following options:
      • A-Z or Z-A - Select the A-Z option to sort data in ascending order. Select the Z-A option to sort data in descending order. By default, the result data displayed in pivot table or table is sorted in descending order of the first measure included.
      • Delete - Select the Delete option to remove the dimension or measure from the Included field.
    2. If the dimension is from RBI data collections, then you can find the following options:
      • Distinct Count - Select the Distinct Count option to include a distinct count of dimension in widget.
      • Total Count - Select the Total Count option to include total count of dimension in widget.
        Note: On selecting the Distinct Count or Total Count sorting option, the dimension automatically gets converted to measure.
      • A-Z or Z-A - Select the A-Z option to sort data in ascending order. Select the Z-A option to sort data in descending order. By default, the result data displayed in pivot table or table is sorted in descending order of the first measure included.
      • Delete - Select the Delete option to remove the dimension from the Included field.
    3. If the measure is from RBI data collections, then you can find the following options:
      • Distinct Count - Select the Distinct Count option to include a distinct count of measure in widget.
      • Total Count - Select the Total Count option to include the total count of measure in widget.
      • Sum - Select the Sum option to include sum of measure for the selected period in widget. For example, sum of file sizes for the selected period.
      • Average - Select the Average option to include average of measure for the selected period in widget. For example, average file sizes for the selected period.
      • A-Z or Z-A - Select the A-Z option to sort data in ascending order. Select the Z-A option to sort data in descending order. By default, the result data displayed in pivot table or table is sorted in descending order of the first measure included.
      • Delete - Select the Delete option to remove the dimension from the Included field.
  7. To reorder the selected dimension or measure, drag and drop the dimension or measure in the desired order.
    Note: You cannot reorder between dimensions and measures.
  8. To save the widget based on the entered parameters and values, click Save.
