Understanding Connector Categories

Connectors are organized so you can locate the one you need in two ways: by data type or by provider. You will find both views in the Data Sources section.

Browsing by Data Type

Under Data Type, connectors are grouped according to the kind of scan they support:

Data Type	What it supports
Trustees	Supports trustee scans only.
Files	Supports file scans only (no trustee scan).
Files and Trustees	Supports both file scans and trustee scans.
Email	Scans emails and their attachments. The Exchange On-Premise connector lives here.
Database and Trustees	Structured-data connectors.

Browsing by Provider

Under Provider, connectors are grouped by the vendor that supplies them — for example Atlassian, AWS, Box and Microsoft. Because the Exchange On-Premise connector is a Microsoft connector, you will find it listed under Microsoft as well as under the Email data type.
